Our 110.000 ft2 Headquarters Facility is located in West Java and is the largest oil spill response centre in Indonesia
with six bases across Indonesia and bases of operation in Malaysia, Thailand, and India.
This year we plan to expand our Headquarters to 240.000 ft2.
OSCT INDONESIA has been established since 2001, protecting the Indonesian natural environment from Oil Pollution, and responding to spills quickly and effectively. We are one of the biggest OIL SPILL RESPONSE CENTRES in the world, and are the largest LOCAL OIL SPILL RESPONSE CENTRE in Indonesia.
The risk of oil spill pollution in Indonesia comes from oil & gas activities as the transportation model of crude oil and oil products in Indonesia is done mostly on waters by either national oil barge from 1.000 tons up to 85.000 tons or by international tanker VLCC (Very Large Cargo Carrier) over 200.000 tons passing or discharging oil or oil products.
Indonesia has 5 STS (Ship to Ship Transfer) and 10 Single Buoy Mooring (SBM). Large tankers come to these STS unloading oil products, then oil products are transferred to medium or small tankers.
These tankers discharges oil products to these SBM and then oil products go to Oil Terminals or Oil Depots by submersible pipe or submersible hoses. These submersible hoses and pipeline have high risk of polluting Indonesia water. It is absolutely true that all these STS or SBM are classified as high risk to Oil Spill Disaster. Some of the major oil distribution points are : two in the Sumatera Area, two in Java, two near Kalimantan and Sulawesi and one in Irian Jaya.
There are over 150 oil jetties which are used for oil related activities and many of them are considered as high risk, among them are 6 major processing plants and 4 major big Transit Terminals. If we see how crowded the oil activities in Indonesia and how many oil terminals and oil depots Indonesia has, people say, IF YOU DROP A STONE FROM A PLANE FLYING OVER INDONESIA, THIS STONE WILL FALL TO ONE OF THESE OIL DEPOTS OR TERMINALS.
We can figure from all this oil & gas activities that Indonesia water has high risk of oil spill disaster; therefore Indonesia needs a capable national oil spill response centre to prevent and contain oil spill disaster from polluting our sensitive islands and world heritage sites.
This is the reason OSCT Indonesia was established as the first and the largest National Oil Spill Response Center in Indonesia to protect all Indonesian islands and waters from oil spill disaster.
Over the years, OSCT Indonesia have been actively combating oil spills and this year we plan to have our dispersant spraying plane and our Initial Public Offering (IPO). All of these developments are in line with our mission is to uphold the highest safety standards for our operations and to be prepared to protect the Indonesian and the World’s natural environment.
