OSCT Indonesia started a cooperation with PTT Oil and Retail Thailand by signing MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in order to working closely with PTTOR an accredited oil and chemical spill training course (IMO Level 1, 2 and 3 and OPRC IMO HNS Operations and Manager level) in Thailand that complies with National Oil Spill Contingency Plan, regulations and international standards. With these trainings, both OSCT and PTTOR aim to increase awareness of the importance of developing a pre-approved oil spill contingency plans that will enable effective response in the event of an oil spill incident by trained personnel, especially for large oil spills, to prevent environmental damage. At the same time, this MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) also allows us to recognize the benefits of cooperation and assistance, if needed, between Indonesia and Thailand in preparing for and responding to major oil spills in Southeast Asia.
